God's Will For You

1 Timothy 3:1 (NASB)
"It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he dires to do."

A friend of mine helped me to understand God's will for my life today. I don't think she was trying to convence me of what God is leading me to do, but was merely telling me how she understands God's call for her life according to how the Scriptures teach. During our conversation, this verse came to mind.
Too many times I am expecting God to lay out a clear and precise plan for me. This will almost always cause confusion and anxiety. God doesn't want us to be confused and anxious, but focused and excited.
The part of this verse I am focused on is the later part, "it is a fine work he desires to do." It is true that God speaks to us in different ways at different times. In this text, God is specifically telling us here, a work for Him, that you desire to do, is from Him. If you are wanting to do some type of ministry, for the glory of God, it is a fine work you desire to do.
Always remember also, while you are seeking God's face and seeking His will, you will encounter opposition. Satan will throw temptations at you. Sin distorts our perception of right and wrong.
God's will is revealed throughout the Bible. For the will of God to be revealed to you and to understand how to discern good and evil, read and study the Bible. All of it. The whole thing.

Hebrews 5: 13-14 (NASB)
13"For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil."
